Hawaii islands comprise multiple
small and medium-sized islets which are known for their wonderful scenic
beauty. In this blog post, we have discussed about 5 of them. Have a look into
them:
• Hawaii: Hawaii or the ‘Big Island’ is the largest landmass of the
United States. Its area is 10,432 sq km. Hawaii has a total of 3 volcanoes, and
among them, ‘Kilauea’ is known to be one of the active volcanoes on the earth.
• Maui: Among several islands in Hawaii, Maui is considered as the
second largest one. Along the coastlines of Maui, different types of mountain
range can be found which are separated from each other by valleys as well as
plains. Therefore, it is also known as the ‘Valley Isle’. The amazing weather
and serene beaches of Maui have also made it popular among worldwide visitors.
• Oahu: Being one of the most important Hawaii islands, Oahu has been
made the center of operations of the Government of Hawaii. Honolulu, the
capital of Hawaii, is also located in Oahu. It is the third biggest island
having an area of 1,545 sq km. Waikiki, Pearl Harbor etc. are some of the major
attractions of this isle.
• Kauai: According to the area of land, Kaui comes right after Oahu.
Its area is 1,430 sq km which is fourth highest in the entire state of Hawaii.
Among all islands of Hawaii, Kaui is the oldest one. Due to the presence of
unused lands as well as forests, this is also called the ‘Garden Isle’.
• Molokai: It is comparatively smaller than all aforementioned isles.
Molokai is basically a segment of the Maui County, and is located at the east
of Oahu. The island is famous for its exclusive volcanic ranges and beautiful
coral reefs.
There are many other islets, such
as Lanai, Nihau, Kahoolawe, etc. which form the Hawaii islands. Majority of
these islands are known for their mesmerizing beauty, and tourists around the
world simply love to explore these places.
